How do I apply my decal? (Permanent Vinyl)
Step 1- Clean the area thoroughly with rubbing alcohol.
Step 2-Prepare the sticker for application by firmly rubbing a squeegee or credit card across the decal, over clear transfer tape. This removes any air bubbles that may have formed and makes the decal cling to the transfer tape.
Step 3-Turn decal over, peel the white paper backing off. If the decal clings to the backing, slowly replace the paper backing and repeat Step 2.
Step 4 - Slowly lower the decal onto the surface and rub it in place firmly with a squeegee or credit card.
Step 5-Slowly peel the clear transfer tape off at an angle. If the decal starts pulling away from surface, repeat step 4.
Care instructions of Vinyl Decals (Permanent Vinyl)
Vinyl decals can last 6+ years with proper care. It is best to always hand wash your decal with a sponge.
- do not apply on extremely hot or cold surfaces.
- never scrub over decal
- do not soak in water
- do not microwave
- do not run through dishwasher
- if you notice bubbles in your vinyl, wait a few days. If they don’t go away, you can poke them with a needle and press out the air.
Are my decals reusable?
No, die-cut vinyl decals are not reusable. They cannot be reused, or moved/re-positioned. They are a one time use only.
What size decal should I buy for my ......?
That's really a matter of personal preference. Typically for a cell phone decal, you would want a size of about 2 inches wide. For a wine glass or a tumbler, you might want a size of around 3 inches. For a laptop decal, you might want a size of anywhere between 3 and 7 inches depending on location on the laptop and how much you want it to stand out. For a car window decal, you might want a size anywhere from 4 - 10 inches, or even larger! When in doubt, always grab a ruler or a tape measure. We do not own every type of vehicle, drinkware and electronic device so only you can choose the best size for your intended application!
Are vinyl decals compatible with my walls/paint?
1 - Vinyl decals will adhere to *most* flat, smooth surfaces, such as walls, windows, metal, glass, mirrors, etc. However, vinyl decals are NOT compatible with the following:
2 - Medium to heavily textured walls (rough, grainy or bumpy are a no-go, unfortunately)
3 - Brick, paneling, cement block, etc
4 - Many of the newer no and low VOC paints that are becoming popular
5 - We cannot guarantee that decals will adhere to all surfaces, so we're not able to offer refunds for decals not adhering to your wall/surface.
Are Wall Decal Removable?
Yes, indoor vinyl is removable. We use the highest quality indoor vinyl on the market, and it removes easily by simply peeling it back off very SLOWLY. The heat of a hair dryer on low just beforehand will soften the vinyl for easier removal.
Tips for applying Vinyl Decals on Wood
- If the wood is rough or porous, sand it so that the surface feels smooth to the touch. Then make sure there’s no sawdust or residue on the wood before applying the vinyl.
- If it’s been painted or sealed, allow a few weeks for the paint or sealant to cure before applying vinyl.
- If you have a choice of paint, use 1shot or an enamel paint.
- If the vinyl letters are coming up with the transfer tape, give it some time, and/or moisten the tape.
